Valine is an essential amino acid and a type of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA). It cannot be synthesized by animals and must be obtained from dietary sources. Valine plays a crucial role in protein synthesis, energy metabolism, and immune function in livestock and poultry.
This product is designed to be incorporated into animal feed at specific ratios. Valine is considered the fifth limiting amino acid in growing-finishing pigs and the second limiting amino acid in lactating sows. Appropriate valine supplementation enhances growth performance and reproductive performance, modulates gut microbiota and immune functions. In weaned piglets, valine supplementation improves feed intake and growth performance. In lactating sows, dietary valine improves milk production. For ruminants, supplemental valine requires protection against ruminal degradation to be as efficacious as in non-ruminants. Valine is commonly used in low-protein diets to maintain a balanced amino acid profile and reduce nitrogen excretion.
