Acetic Acid Feed Grade

Specifically, acetic acid appears as a colorless liquid with a distinctive pungent odor. It functions by creating an acidic environment that inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria and molds in feed, thereby extending its shelf life and improving feed hygiene. The antimicrobial efficacy of acetic acid is based on its ability to penetrate bacterial cells in its undissociated form, where it disrupts essential cellular functions. In poultry nutrition, it also provides energy, offering 14.8 kJ/g of metabolizable energy, which makes it a dual-purpose additive that supports both pathogen control and dietary energy density.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that acetic acid is safe for poultry, pigs, fish, and pet animals at a maximum concentration of 2,500 mg/kg complete feed (or 1,000 mg/L in drinking water). It is commonly used in combination with other organic acids such as formic acid, propionic acid, and lactic acid to achieve synergistic antimicrobial effects.

Acetic Acid Feed Grade is carefully manufactured under strict quality control and is widely used in poultry, swine, ruminant, aquaculture, and equine operations to improve feed hygiene, extend shelf life, and support overall animal health and performance.
