Specifically, water-soluble starch is produced through the physical or chemical modification of native starches (such as corn, potato, or tapioca starch) to enhance their solubility in water without requiring heating. It appears as a white to off-white powder that readily dissolves in cold or lukewarm water to form clear to translucent colloidal solutions. In feed applications, it serves as a binder for pelletized feeds, improving pellet durability and reducing fines generation .
