Copper Oxide Feed Grade

Copper Oxide is a specialized feed additive formulated with copper oxide as its key active ingredient. It is an inorganic compound (chemical formula CuO) that serves as a concentrated source of bioavailable copper for animal nutrition, playing a crucial role in supporting essential metabolic functions, enzyme activity, and overall health in livestock and poultry.

This product is designed to be incorporated into animal feed at specific ratios, ensuring that livestock and poultry receive the appropriate dosage of copper oxide. Copper is an essential trace element involved in hematopoiesis, immune function, and numerous enzymatic processes. Supplementation of copper oxide helps prevent copper deficiency, which can lead to impaired growth, weakened immune response, and reduced productivity. Studies have shown that copper oxide can serve as an effective copper source, and nano-scale copper oxide has demonstrated significantly higher copper apparent digestibility compared to conventional copper oxide and copper sulfate in broilers, while also improving the digestibility of zinc and manganese. Additionally, oxidative copper (Cu₂O) has been recognized as a highly bioavailable source of copper, offering advantages such as high copper concentration, low dust content, and excellent flowability for feed applications. Research on nano-copper oxide in Tibetan chickens indicates that supplementation at appropriate levels (5-50 mg/kg) can significantly improve body weight and average daily gain, while levels as high as 100 mg/kg may cause liver damage, highlighting the importance of proper dosage and animal category considerations.

Copper Oxide Feed Grade is carefully manufactured to maintain consistent quality and purity. It is available in various forms, including powder, granules (black columnar solid), and needle-shaped slow-release formulations for ruminants to address copper deficiency in cattle, sheep, and goats. The product is widely used in poultry, swine, ruminant, and aquaculture operations. The product is authorized by the European Commission as a nutritional additive in the "compounds of trace elements" category for use in all animal species, subject to specific maximum content limits depending on the animal category.
